UNSEEN THEATRE COMPANY IN ASSOCIATION WITH CRASS CLOWN PRODUCTIONS
AN AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE - DIRECT FROM LOS ANGELES “Warning: Marriage may cause a miserable goddamn life” or a very funny play - and food for thought. Eight different characters share their innermost thoughts on the subjects of marriage, sex and monogamy. Jake claims that “infidelity saved his marriage”; Emily misses her husband when they are alone together; Adam is in a constant state of battle between “his head, his heart and his dick”; Julie is swayed into infidelity by “chemistry”; Henry can’t stand the sight of himself in the mirror; Annie wonders why we keep buying such a flawed product?...”the warnings are widely known, but it feels good in the moment and takes years to kill you”. Most of us would claim that we have very logical, rational views on these issues. Dinner table discussions are full of the subject, but are we really free to choose our own views? Who or what governs our relationships? Is it all about our own egos, or are we dictated to by either society, or our own biology? Is there a right answer? And if so, which of these characters has it? Altar and Ego are they really forever moving in opposite directions?
